About SAATH
Why SAATH Exists
No older person should feel forgotten, isolated or alone.
Families today often live very different lives from previous generations. Children may live in another part of London, another city or another country. Work and family responsibilities can make regular visits difficult.

For older people from culturally diverse communities, isolation can sometimes be felt even more deeply when language, traditions, faith or familiar ways of life are not understood. SAATH was created to provide companionship with that understanding at its heart.
What SAATH Means
Togetherness, companionship and being alongside someone
That meaning represents exactly what we want our service to provide. We are not simply arranging visits. We want to build trusted human connections.
- Someone to talk to.
- Someone to listen.
- Someone to walk beside you.
- Someone to share a cup of tea with.
- Someone who notices when you have had a difficult day.
- Someone whose visit becomes something to look forward to.
Our Ethos
Older people are individuals with lives, experiences and stories that deserve respect
Growing older should never mean losing independence, dignity or meaningful human connection. Our approach is guided by four principles.
Dignity
Every person deserves to be treated with respect, patience and consideration.
Companionship
Meaningful conversation and human connection can have an enormous impact on everyday wellbeing.
Cultural Understanding
Language, faith, traditions, food, family structures and cultural experiences can shape how comfortable someone feels with another person. We respect those differences.
Family Partnership
Families remain central. SAATH is designed to complement the support and relationships already surrounding an older person — never to replace them.

At SAATH, we believe no elder should face life alone.
Our Promise
We aim to provide companionship that brings warmth to the individual and reassurance to the people who love them.
